
Guillermo Marshall Rivera
Guillermo Marshall Rivera es licenciado en matemáticas y estadístico por la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile y Doctor en Bioestadística por la Universidad de Colorado en 1990.
Ingresó a la planta académica de la UC en 1984 y en la actualidad es Profesor Titular de las facultades de Matemáticas y de Medicina de nuestra Universidad. En Matemáticas ocupó el cargo de decano durante el período 2004-2010 y en la Escuela de Medicina fue jefe del Departamento de Salud Pública en el período 2000-2003. Fue Prorrector de la UC durante el período 2010-2025.
Su investigación ha estado centrada principalmente en el desarrollo de metodología estadística y sus aplicaciones para la salud humana. Su trabajo se puede dividir en cuatro áreas:

Regresión de Markov para modelar la evolución de enfermedades crónicas.

Comparación de resultados ajustados por riesgo de centros clínicos.

Evaluación de la exposición al Arsénico por consumo de agua.

Desarrollo de modelos para datos longitudinales con el propósito de clasificar la evolución clínica de pacientes.
Como resultado de este trabajo ha publicado más de 100 artículos en revistas internacionales indexadas y cuenta con más de 9.000 citas reportadas por Google Scholar.
